Festival Season

Tom and I were fortunate enough to be able to join the Triban crew at a few of this year's summer festivals.
We got to bring

the yurt along which served as quite the fancy green room for the bands but before we left, it was time to create! I baked approximately: 60 brownies, 40 blondies, 80 (disastrous) flapjacks and a 100 florentines. Tom made about 150 Go Go Guarana Balls and I made about 15 hoops to sell. Thanks to Sue and Rob for allowing us to turn their home into TomBabs Industries, it was a messy, sticky business to say the least! Well worth it though.

Cake with your chai, Madam?
First stop, Coed Hills to pick up the yurt and then it was off to Kent for Small World

Just how do you fit a yurt into a Mondeo?

Putting up the yurt behind the Triban tent.

Lunchtime with the crew, mmm delicious Triban stodge!
One of the best things about going to the festivals is getting to meet so many awesome new people. Different folks, expressing themselves in their own unique styles, living their lives to the fullest with great, big, fat, open hearts - what a treat to be around such an inspiring bunch.

Creativity abounds through music, art, craft, dance, movement, spoken word, permaculture and whatever else tickles. At times, all that stimulation could be a little overwhelming, but then something would come along that would totally blow me away and made me appreciate such a forum where all these people could share the beauty that they create.

Tom and I fell in love with these guys: Coco's Lovers .

Time to hit the dance floor!
When we weren't busy helping out at the Triban cafe, we strolled about in search of new music, roving performances and random chit chat with lovely folk.
Home sweet home, our tent and "garage".

We expanded our minds at different talks and workshops. Jonathan Cainer talked down the myth of 2012, Tom started talking differently after going to 'An Introduction to NVC' and I found my inner poet at Paradox's workshop called 'The Art of Meaning'. We sang our hearts out in the style of the Baka pygmies of Cameroon and took intimacy to a deeper level at Jewel's 'Living Love' workshop.
